Senior Research Scientist
Stan Fruchey accumulated thirty years of experience in industrial research for two international chemical companies before joining MATRIC. He has successfully developed, piloted, and commercialized four new chemical processes. His work has resulted in 36 issued U.S. patents and numerous foreign applications.
Dr. Fruchey began his industrial career at Hoechst Celanese in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he progressed through R&D positions from Research Chemist to Research Associate. Among other accomplishments, he developed and piloted multiple technologies, including commercialized processes for synthetic fatty acids, acetominophen, and a biocide. He became the lead chemist for the acrylates program and demonstrated new technology in the pilot plant. After 27 years with Celanese, Stan joined Dow Chemical when the acrylates business was purchased.
As a Senior Process Research Specialist at Dow, Dr. Fruchey was a member of a team that developed a new process for acrylic acid purification that significantly reduced the operating cost of the process. He also developed a new inhibitor package for acrylic acid purification and served as Product Steward, providing support and training on safe handliing of acrylic monomers.
Stan received a BS in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Tennessee.
