Mr. Tom Maliszewski served a variety of roles in 28 years with Union Carbide. His experience includes process design for several chemicals manufacturing plants, lead process engineer for a major project, 12 years as process engineering Group Leader/Engineering Manager, and two years experience as a manufacturing plant Department Head. In 1998 was appointed a Corporate Fellow of Union Carbide Corporation for many contributions to the development and successful implementation of process design to UCC's chemical technology and UCC standard work process improvements. Tom also was involved in several investigations to find the root cause of plant incidents and to prevent future events. After the merger with Dow Chemical, he served two years as a Senior Process Engineering Associate in Global Process Engineering working on process design and process improvements. Mr. Maliszewski was one of the first MATRIC employees, and has been a key contributor to business and staff development activities. He received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, and since 2001 has created and provided technical support for major Design Problems for Purdue's senior ChE design class. In 2003, Purdue named Tom an Outstanding Engineering Alumni. in 2009, he was appointed Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue. Tom has one patent awarded from UCC work, and he is one of the MATRIC inventors for several patents pending for recent work.
