Dr. Dever has over 30 years of experience in technical and organization leadership. He served various roles in research and development from catalyst testing and development to process technology support at Union Carbide. He participated in the development of new EO catalyst technology and subsequently became involved in designing a new, grass roots plant to maximize the benefit of the new technology. Jack later became Production Manager at the Prentiss, Alberta plant site, responsible for implementation of the new technology. He led the technology implementation team composed of R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain personnel. He then became leader of the Prentiss Maintenance organization and led the organization through significant change, with construction of a new polyethylene plant at the site, as well as implementing SAP software for maintenance planning and cost tracking. After the merger of Union Carbide and Dow, Dr. Dever was named the EO-EG Global Improvement Leader. He led a world-wide organization charged with identifying and developing improvement opportunities at Dow’s EO-EG plants in Europe and North America. He also led and managed technology support for joint venture plants in the Middle East, Asia, and North America. Later, as Director of Technology Development, he led a multi-functional group in the development of next generation process technology for Acrylic Acid. The team identified, validated, and developed new industry-leading technology.
Dr. Dever holds BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University and received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
