Kevin Elkins has more than twenty years of experience in laboratory operations with Union Carbide and Dow. He was a member of the Thermal and Physical Properties Measurements Group, responsible for solution, combustion, and differential scanning calorimetric measurements; physical properties measurements, including density, dielectric constant, electrical conductivity, solubility, viscosity, and compatibility of chemical solutions; measurement of vapor pressure and phase equilibrium data. He also was involved in ethylene oxide catalysis research, where he was responsible for preparation of catalysts, operation of reactor systems and process evaluation/optimization. His experience with analytical instrumental techniques includes gas chromatography, x-ray diffraction, atomic absorption and infrared spectroscopy. Kevin received a BS in Geology from West Virginia University and an AA in Chemical Technology from West Virginia State University.
